SMU House Corporation

It has been my absolute honor to serve as the President of the Theta Kappa House Corporation since June of 2021.  I have had the best board ever, and I believe we all enjoyed working together to continue to make the Theta Kappa house the best place to live.  

 

This last semester started off with work week and the final Winter recruitment.  We are all thrilled to have this many new Tri Deltas.  SMU has moved to a Fall recruitment plan.  This fall, bid day will be on Tuesday, September 3rd.  

 

It was my privilege to attend Pansy Brunch on April 7th.  Traditionally, House Corporation honors the outgoing Collegiate Chapter President and the House Manager, both who serve as members of our board.  We gift them beautiful silver punch cups with their names engraved.  The cups live at the Tri Delta house and keep the legacy of the work these young women have dedicated to their chapter, and to our chapter home.  Sadie Chamberlain has served as the House Manager, and Kate Marquardt had served as the Chapter President.  Sadie was not present at the Pansy Brunch, but I enjoyed honoring Kate and seeing her parents again.  

 

We continue to look for ways to make 3100 University more comfortable and inviting.  Our House Director Miss Liz is always the quintessential hostess.  She represents us very well on campus, and her events are flawless.  Lindsay Adams Thomas has done a great job of adding new furnishings around the house, including the sun deck! Michelle Morton Davis is consistently devoted to all maintenance issues and resolutions.  We have typical maintenance planned over these coming summer months, including some more major repairs to our HVAC system.  

 

The SMU House Corporation meets every first Tuesday at the SMU DDD house.  We meet from 11:30am-1pm and share lunch together.  We are currently looking to fill the role of VP/President Elect the June 2024-May 2026 term.  Please let Nancy Seay Anderson (nancysa@me.com or 214-244-6200) know if you are interested in joining this fun, talented, devoted group of volunteers!

I continue to be most grateful for all the memories and benefits that membership in Tri Delta has afforded me.  It is an honor to be a part of this great whole.  Thank you for the opportunity to serve.
